If Beloved Disney Films Had Real Life Endings, In Accordance With Science

Image via Disney

If Disney films had real life endings, they would have been so much more tragic.

What Culture has put together a list of happy endings that are totally heartbreaking if they were to be written in accordance with science.

Simba would have killed all the cubs.

At the end of Lion King, Simba assumes the role of alpha male and shares a monogamous relationship with Nala. In reality, the alpha lion would have mated with all the females in his pride. Also, when a new male takes charge, they would usually kill any cubs under nine months old, to begin his own bloodline.

Mark Watney in The Martian would probably get cancer.

The radiation density flying around space is high, “on Earth we’re exposed to 0.00001 sieverts of daily background radiation, Mars, however, with its thin atmosphere and no magnetic field, could expose astronauts to a 0.66 daily dose.” This is equivalent to doing a weekly full-body CT scan, which will increase the risk of developing a fatal cancer.

Star Wars Death Star explosion would have been catastrophic.

The destruction of the Death Star would have created a crater of 700km wide, four times wider than the impact formed by the Chicxulub crater that killed the dinosaurs on Earth. Endor’s surface would have been flatten, and it’s heat would have seen all the water on the surface to vaporize, causing anything on that planet to die.

What Your Zodiac Sign Says About Your Dating Life

With Valentine’s Day just weeks away, as you head out to mingle, knowing what your Zodiac sign says about your dating personality may help you forge a more fulfilling relationship this year.

Astrologer Kelli Fox of TheAstrologer reveals the different dating styles and compatibility of the different signs.

Aquarius (20 January – 18 February) is unconventional, open-minded, and forward-thinking in life and love.

Fox says, Aquarius tend to be aloof and detached in a relationship as they value freedom and dislike PDA, but they actually care for their loved one deep within. They enjoy dates that can be talked about after, like catching an indie movie, or visiting an art opening. They have no hard and fast rules when it comes to sex, and they will sleep with their date if they feel like it.

Gemini (21 May – 20 June) is fun and flirty, never a dull moment with them.

Gemini craves for social settings in a date, they rather hang out at a bar, then to go for a movie. They love to engage in clever, witty conversations. Geminis tend to stay as friends first, but can move on quick when they feel a connection. You will know that you have found a keeper when your partner can keep you both at a party setting and in private.

Virgo (23 August – 22 September) is known to be thoughtful. They are reliable, practical and flexible.

Fox says, “This is a sign who seeks perfection and steady progress toward commitment and love.” They will set high standards when choosing a partner. At earlier stages of dating Virgos will appreciate romantic gestures. Your inner wild side will shine through when you are in love.

Sagittarius (22 November – 21 December) is adventurous and loves anything that feels unexpected.

They want a lover with strong convictions, and someone with a philosophical outlook. Sagittarius is a freedom-loving sign who won’t be pressured into commitment, but will be a devoted companion when they find the right one. They are unafraid to try new things in and out of the bedroom.
