Eerie Photos Of An Abandoned Disney World Being Engulfed By Nature

Nestled away at Bay Lake, Florida, is the abandoned River Country–Walt Disney World’s first water park.

The amusement once teemed with visitors between 1976 and 2001, after which it ceased operations permanently and was left deserted to this day.

Its unkept grounds have now been reclaimed by nature, a sight captured through these serene yet ghostly images by photographer Seph Lawless–pseudonym for the American-based artist who has been photographing abandoned American cities since 2005.

This series, termed ‘Dismaland’, shows what these attractions look like after years of inhabitance.

“Let’s face it: there are places in this world that most of us could never imagine being abandoned and Disney World tops that list,” explained Lawless in his interview with PetaPixel.

“Next month will mark 40 years after the opening day of River Country, and I wanted to capture powerful images that would not only show this eerie abandoned Disney park, but I wanted it to be absolutely beautiful at the same time.”

Other projects by Lawless include photos of abandoned malls and theaters as well as haunted houses.

‘World’s First’ Incubator And Biodegradble Urn Turns Ashes To Trees Effortlessly

We previously featured a biodegradable urn that turns ashes into a tree.

Bios now introduces the ‘Bios Incube’, the world’s first system designed to help grow the remains of your loved ones close to you. Apart from the Bio Urn, the ‘Bios Incube’ also includes an incubator that facilitates growth, enabling your to track and monitor plant growth. It also brings all the information seamlessly together in a mobile application, combining the insights of tree growth with data from its environment.

Since the ‘Bios Incube’ is made to work by itself, setting it up is really simple. You simply plant the Bios Urn inside the ‘Bios Incube’. Then you place the sensor on the surface of the soil, just above the Bios Urn. This will help track and water your tree using the water tank inside the ‘Bios Incube’. Users can then sync it to the mobile app, granting you the ability to track your tree and stay up-to-date on environmental conditions.

Watch the video below or visit their Kickstarter campaign for more information.

Tattoo Artists Reveal The Worst Experiences They Ever Had With Customers

A recent AskReddit thread reached out to tattoo artists seeking to discover their worst experiences with customers. Response was diverse and fascinating; with funny, dark and at times nauseating encounters thrown into the mix.

While some of the most common tattoo placements include the arm, hip or back, customers mentioned in this thread are known to request for tattoos in questionable areas such as directly on their private parts. Other unfortunate stories include customers getting tattoo designs of significant years that they ended up remembering wrongly.

Read some of the responses below and view the original thread here.

Things You Should Not Do To Avoid Feeling Groggy When You First Wake Up

Everyone has a different morning routine, but there are certainly some habits that can make your day unproductive and less enjoyable.

Business Insider has rounded up common wake-up behaviors and mistakes discovered by scientists and experts that you would want to avoid.

Hitting the snooze button.

While it is tempting to snooze for another five to ten minutes, sleep expert Timothy Morgenthaler said, “Most sleep specialists think that snooze alarms are not a good idea”. You will be entering a sleep cycle that you will not be able to complete, and will wake up more groggy than refreshed.

Leave your bed unmade.

According to Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit and Smarter Faster Better, making your bed is associated with increased productivity throughout the rest of the day. It is a “keystone habit” that will spark off chain reactions for other good habits to take hold.

Getting ready in the dark.

Keeping the lights dim while you prepare may seem like a softer transition into the day, but your internal body clock will still think that it is nighttime and will cause you to feel groggier.
